Symon Cusack has been Atkins’ Agile Technical Director for a number of years now and has worked with many of their clients across a number of sectors to help them understand and embrace Agile ways of working. He was first involved in Agile some 15 years’ ago working for a large global organisation and, having a background in more established project and programme delivery approaches, and appreciate first-hand the culture challenges associated with adoption, especially in medium and large organisations including government. He believes he has the best job at Atkins, especially when attendees of the workshops and coaching sessions he runs suddenly switch on to the potential Agile has for making things so much better.
Symon’s Roundtable: Generation Agile – A Survival Guide
‘Gen A’ is experiencing a revolution in our working environment, just as robotics has automated manual tasks, AI is beginning to automate human cognitive processes and infiltrate the traditional domain of the knowledge worker. Technology and culture are enabling more flexible approaches to our ways of working and the zeitgeist promotes dislocation from our colleagues in both time and space. How will we live the values of the Agile Manifesto, in particular encourage collaboration and team working, along with providing the environment for ‘autonomy, master and purpose’ to motivate and develop our human capital in this new world? Backed up with insights and commentary from Atkins/EY and other leading commentators, this interactive ‘lean coffee’ session will explore the issues and opportunities that the Digital Age and ‘Industry 4.0’ world will bring, and help inform what it is that we need to survive and flourish as human beings.
