Our five expert keynotes
This year we have an abundance of excellent speakers joining us at the Agile Business Conference. The following five industry experts are masters of their craft, and will be hosting insightful and inspiring keynote sessions across the two days of the event.
Recently named in the list of the top 50 women in tech in Europe and nominated as the 119th most influential woman in the world, Sue is one of the leading tech personalities in the UK today. An award-winning computer scientist, radical thinker, social entrepreneur and public speaker, Sue is well known for founding the high-profile campaign to save Bletchley Park, much of which was realised through her use of social media, capitalising upon technology as a fitting continuation of Bletchley’s technological legacy.
We’re thrilled to have Bill Mills, Chief Executive and ounder of Explore Learning joining us. Explore Learning is a leading provider of English and Maths tuition for children aged four to fourteen, and Bill started up the company in 2000, opening his first centre in Chelmsford, Essex in 2001.
Bill became responsible for Highfield – a school of 150 children. During this time he decided to combine his business acumen with his love for education to create an organisation that provides inspiring tuition in Maths and English tuition.
There are now 137 Explore Learning centers across the UK, with approximately 36,000 members, and five centers in Texas.
Dr Nicola Millard, Head of Customer Insight and Futures at BT, will be discussing the way digital working implies a lot of changes in the ways that organisations define, manage and execute work.
Despite working for a technology company, Nicola isn’t a technologist and combines psychology with futurology to try & anticipate what might be lying around the corner for both customers and organisations.
Nicola recently celebrated her 27th year in BT. She has done a number of jobs around the business, including research, user interface design, customer service & business consulting.
Peter Cheese, Chief Executive at CIPD, is recognised as a consultant, speaker and writer in the field of human capital and organisation, and has worked with many organisations, practitioners and thought leaders in this field. He was voted as the UKs most influential thinker in HR for 2013 by HR Magazine. He is also a non-exec director at BPP University, and sits on the Advisory Board of the Open University Business School.
Peter will be discussing Agile’s place within HR and the future of work.
Professor Eddie Obeng – educator, global TED speaker, author and visionary – is the person behind the innovation bursts at Danone and Cadbury, the delivery of successful innovation projects at IDEO, inspiring change and leadership in HSBC, the turnaround of Rolls Royce and much more.
As well as having written 10 books on innovation, change and leadership, Eddie also invented QUBE – an “innovative virtual world” – the term ‘virtual teams’, the four types of change and many more formidable tools, frameworks and concepts.
