APMG & Agile Business Consortium partnership expands with Agile Digital Services (AgileDS)
Long-time Agile Business Conference supporters APMG International are excited to be launching their new product, Agile Digital Services (AgileDS) – brought to you in partnership with conference hosts the Agile Business Consortium – at this year’s event. Visit their stand at the conference to hear more, and learn all about AgileDS below.
APMG International has been working in partnership with the Agile Business Consortium since 2009, developing official certifications in support of the popular AgilePM (Agile Project Management), AgilePgM (Agile Programme Management) and AgileBA (Agile Business Analysis) guidance published by the Consortium.
The partnership has seen AgilePM establish itself as the world’s leading framework and certification for agile project management, with close to 100,000 AgilePM exams sat since their release in 2010.
The Consortium has recently expanded its portfolio of professional Agile guidance with the recent launch of AgileDS (Agile Digital Services). Alongside the new guidance, Foundation and Practitioner-level exams have been launched, supported by accredited training.
The AgileDS guidance is designed to support the Agile design and development of digital services. It enables organisations to develop a consistent approach, common language and skilled workforce for the successful design and delivery of digital services whether through evolving improvements or step-change transformation.
Why was it developed?
The UK Government is recognised as a world leader in digital government, led by the Government Digital Service (GDS) with its tenacious focus on user needs, common design principles, openness, balance between the needs of citizens and government… and Agility.
In response to the special complexity of government, GDS has created the GOV.UK Service Standard and supporting Service Manual, which defines a development lifecycle for digital services and provides standards and supporting guidance.
The scale and complexity of public sector digital transformation is enormous. User research conducted by the Agile Business Consortium, talking to people working within government departments, found that people need support and guidance to put the GOV.UK Service Manual into practice.
AgileDS is that guidance. It blends the popular AgilePM framework with the GDS Service Design Manual and emerging thinking around business agility.
It offers practitioners involved in the design and delivery of digital services with a mature Agile approach that embraces Agile product and service development in the context of Agile, business change-focused programmes and projects. The guidance has been designed carefully to use language familiar to public sector staff from the GDS Service Manual, including the GDS lifecycle (user-needs-discovery-alpha-beta-live) and GDS roles.
Training and certification
Accredited training for AgileDS is available via a network of providers accredited by APMG and the Agile Business Consortium. As referenced above, certification is available at Foundation and Practitioner levels. Find out more at www.apmg-international.com/AgileDS.
