Agile Business Conference 2008
September 23rd - 24th
Green Agile Award
We are all working hard to devise strategies which will help our organisations to become leaner, greener and more efficient - contributing to energy reduction, reuse and recycling through sleeker, more efficient business design.
A well managed project can deliver a number of green benefits along with improved efficiency, cost reduction and revenue generation. In the spirit of Agile, we are looking to collaborate on emerging initiatives by seeking out the best green ideas from your own businesses, projects and places of work.
This year Steria is sponsoring the Green Agile Award for the most effective and innovative green project, initiative or campaign.
About the Award
The Agile Business Conference introduces awards for the first time in 2008 with the launch of the Green Agile Award for the best green Agile initiative.
Why enter?
Recognition – Your colleagues and customers, your organisation and industry, and the European Agile community will be made aware of your achievements
Motivation - Entering can be highly motivational for your team as they are provided with an opportunity to demonstrate the commitment of their organisation to both Agile and to green intiatives.
What the Judges will be looking for
Initiatives must be able to:
- have applied Agile tools or techniques in order to deliver the stated benefits.
- demonstrate clear and measurable green benefits including, as appropriate, energy reduction, reuse and recycling.
- show how they have raised awareness of green issues and engaged with a range of stakeholders in generating and sharing ideas.
- differ from what has been done before for similar applications or purposes.
Your submission must be supported by hard measures to support these points, with evidence required from at least one user, (by which we mean designer, developer, consultant or customer as appropriate) who must state why they feel the project has made a difference to the way green issues are understood and managed within their organisation.
Naturally, an initiative that has already begun to deliver benefits would have a greater chance of success than one that has not.
How to Enter
- Register. Email greenaward@agileconference.org by 31st July 2008 with your name, address, company and contact details and we’ll send you an Entry Form by return.
- Return your completed Entry Form to the same address by no later than 31st August 2008.
- Selection of Finalists – an evaluation panel will review all entries and create a shortlist for the judges at which point finalists will be notified.
- Announcement of the Winner – following the final judging session a winner will be selected and will be announced at the Agile Business Conference on 24th September 2008.
